Enopolis Bivongi S.r.l., winery, was established on October 15, 2008, succeeding the Bivongi Social Winery, which had been operational since 1961. The aim is to continue, with new stimuli and resources, the work the cooperative had done in the area to protect the production of DOC Bivongi wine and Calabria IGT wine. All the know-how in terms of human resources and technical knowledge acquired by the social winery over decades of production is utilized. The Bivongi DOC includes eleven municipalities spanning the provinces of Reggio and Catanzaro. It is an area with a very high viticultural vocation. From ancient Magna Graecia to the present day, wine production has had a significant impact on the local economy. Currently, Enopolis Bivongi Winery continues the production of DOC BIVONGI wine using grapes harvested from the approximately 20 hectares of vineyards owned by the members of the old cooperative. With grapes from other suppliers, the production of IGT CALABRIA wine continues. Indigenous grape varieties are predominantly used, including Gaglioppo, Magliocco, Greco Nero, and Calabrese for black grape varieties, and Greco Bianco, Montonico, Guardavalle, and Malvasia for white grape varieties.
